Black Bear Hunts is all of the 6-day duration, starting on Monday ending on the Saturday six full days of Hunting. All hunting is done over active bait sights from both fixed and portable tree stands. During the spring and fall we mainly use lock on stands. However, we do use larger fixed stands as well.
We have all our clients drive to camp this allow you much more freedom getting flights in and out of the states and if you tag out early some clients go sight seeing or prefer to be able to go home. It is also handy if you need to call home or make business calls. For there is no phone in camp.
We are also able to get you discounted airfares and rental cars if you wish.
You will arrive in camp on Sunday afternoon. You will be staying in a log cabin with a wood heater. You can settle in and sight your bows till dinner. Monday morning you will get up, have a hot breakfast since bear hunting is done in the afternoon as this is by far the best time to hunt them you can spend the mornings relaxing, practicing with the bow. For those that wish too on the later hunts there is good fishing for Northern Pike and Walleye in the near by lakes and rivers. You head out to your stand after lunch. You will be checked on during the afternoon. A place will be shown to where to meet if you have a bear. If you are not there, we will continue on for we will not go into the stand during the day. You will be picked up at dark and head to back to camp.
We skin, cape, and salt your trophy ready for you to take home, or we can arrange for a good quality taxidermy for you. A military duffle bag is excellent for shipping your hide home.
Bugs at this time of year are almost none existent. However bring some bug dope just in case.
Bow and black powder hunters may use any color camo clothing.
Rifle hunters must wear a complete outer suit of either blaze orange, white, scarlet red or yellow. NONE of these of these COLORS can be in CAMEO. Blaze Orange is preferred.
Your hat must be blaze orange or red.
